History
Maxxis is the international tyre brand of Cheng Shin Rubber Industry Co., a company founded in 1967 by Luo Jye in Yuanlin, Taiwan. Cheng Shin started out making bicycle tyres and grew into one of the largest tyre manufacturers in the world, with factories in Taiwan, mainland China, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and India. Under the Maxxis name the group sells tyres for cars, light trucks, motorcycles, ATVs, karts and bicycles in well over a hundred countries, and the brand is a familiar sight in motocross, mountain biking and other forms of motorsport.
For motorcycles, Maxxis covers almost every segment. The Supermaxx family offers radial tyres for sport and sport-touring riders, from road-focused compounds to track-day rubber. Off-road riders can choose from the Maxxcross range for motocross and enduro, available in variants for soft, intermediate and hard terrain. Alongside these, Maxxis produces bias-ply tyres for classic and commuter bikes, scooter tyres in many small sizes and a broad selection of ATV and quad tyres.
