History
Pirelli was founded in Milan in 1872 by Giovanni Battista Pirelli, initially as a manufacturer of rubber goods before moving into cables and, from the 1890s, tyres. Today the company is listed on the Milan stock exchange and ranks among the world's leading premium tyre makers, with a strong presence in motorsport. Its motorcycle tyres benefit directly from racing: Pirelli has been the sole tyre supplier to the Superbike World Championship since 2004.
The motorcycle range covers almost every kind of riding. The Diablo family serves sport and track riders, from the road-going Diablo Rosso to the race-derived Diablo Supercorsa. Touring riders can choose the Angel GT series, while the Scorpion line spans adventure bikes and off-road use, from the Scorpion Trail to motocross tyres. Classic and custom machines are covered by models such as the Phantom Sportscomp and the Night Dragon, completing a portfolio that reaches from scooters to superbikes.
